Welcome to Graham-Kapowsin High School — Home of the Eagles!

At GKHS, we are proud of our strong traditions and the legacy of excellence built by our students, staff, families, and community. As your new principal, I am honored to be part of this incredible school, and I’m committed to honoring our tradition while inspiring growth in every student, every day.

Our school motto, “Orange and Blue Starts with YOU”, is more than a slogan — it’s a call to action. Every member of our school community plays a role in living out these values:

  • Own your future

  • Understand we are ONE

These three guiding principles help us create a culture where students take pride in their learning, feel connected to one another, and believe in their power to shape their futures.

Get Involved, Stay Connected

Success in high school is about more than just classes — it’s about connection. I encourage every student to get involved in the life of our school through clubs, sports, student leadership, the arts, or service opportunities. Whether you’re passionate about robotics, choir, DECA, basketball, drama, or something new — we have a place for you. If you don’t see a club that matches your interest, we’ll help you start one!

Students should also consider enrolling in at least one challenging course that pushes them to grow and prepares them for life after graduation — whether that path leads to a four-year university, community or technical college, military service, or an apprenticeship.

A Message to Families

Family engagement plays a vital role in student success. Here are some ways you can support your student throughout high school:

  • Talk regularly with your student about their classes, goals, and school experience.

  • Encourage persistence and effort, especially in math, science, and other core areas.

  • Empower your student to advocate for themselves by asking questions and seeking help when needed.

  • Promote high expectations, including taking rigorous courses through senior year.

  • Stay connected through ParentVue, teacher emails, and school updates.

  • Join our Booster Club or volunteer — your involvement makes a difference!

Together, we can ensure that all students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. If you ever have questions, suggestions, or want to get more involved, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I am excited for the year ahead and look forward to working with you to make GKHS the best it can be.
