Armed Team

Armed

The Armed Drill team is a dedicated group of roughly 17–21 cadets who meet every Tuesday through Friday during Zero Hour (class) from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. to practice synchronized marching in formation while armed with the M1903 Springfield Daisy drill replica rifle. In Armed Drill, members master coordinated movements - both marching and complex rifle maneuvers - emphasizing discipline, precision, attention to detail, teamwork, and military bearing as they prepare for competitive Drill Meets against other schools. Each Drill Meet has three key phases:

Inspection

This is where military personnel formally inspect the team and ask cadets questions about general military knowledge, chain of command, and current world events based on a study guide.

Regulation

This is when the team’s ability to perform assigned marching commands and rifle movements with discipline and accuracy will be tested. They will be judged based on dress, the formality of the movements, and the Cadets military bearing.

Exhibition

This is where the team performs a creative and precise routine that may include rifle spinning and advanced formations for judges and spectators. Excelling as an Armed Drill member requires a strong commitment to discipline, attention to detail, consistency in executing commands, deep knowledge of military procedures, and the ability to work cohesively with fellow cadets in every aspect of the competition.
